May 14, 2020: Covid-19 update and re-opening plans

I have greatly missed using my gifts and seeing all of you these last couple of months! Over the past weeks I have been working with state and national organizations, fellow therapists, and the other professionals at The Center for Well-Being to identify a best practice for moving forward. My plans were, and still are, to open slowly in the latter half of May and early June. The nature of massage is that our contact is prolonged and in close proximity to each other. Due to this it is appropriate to proceed cautiously.

I will not be taking new clients at this time. While this has been a difficult decision, I trust that you understand and will be patient, as well as safe and healthy.

What I am doing:

  • Increased disinfecting with CDC approved products
  • Spacing appointments more – in the beginning I will see only 1 client per day.
  • Enhanced intake discussion before each session
  • Relaxing the cancellation policy so everyone is comfortable being honest about how they are feeling.

What I ask of my client

  • Bring and wear your mask while in the building due to our close proximity
  • Come only 5 min before session and I will meet you at the door
  • Sanitize your hands before coming into the building and again after treatment
  • Do not come in if there is any cough or other symptoms of illness
  • If possible, have your own water so you don’t have to remove your mask in the building

These are difficult decisions, but we only need to know someone who has Covid-19 or a healthcare worker to realize that while we have flattened the curve, the virus is not gone and we all must help to minimize the transmission to others. I trust that you understand and will be patient, as well as safe and healthy.

Know that all of you are in my prayers to keep healthy, and to find ways to stay connected with your loved ones.

New Service – Hot Stones

Hot stone massage is now available for 60-minute sessions! This is an awesome deep heat, relaxing massage. These stones are not “set” on you for spot warmth. Instead, I use the stones as an extension of my hands so the heat helps to release tension throughout all your muscles. Be prepared for the ultimate “massage brain” after this session!

Extra time is required before a hot stone massage for heating the stones and set up. Afterwards, additional time is required for cleaning and sanitizing. This means there are limited hot stone sessions available on an individual day and for this reason, you will need to call me to schedule this service instead of using the online program.

Exciting Changes at TKs Massage, LLC!

Many of you know I’ve been looking for a place to rent. Well, I found a great one! Starting Dec 1, 2016 TKs Massage, LLC will be practicing out of The Center for Well-Being Lake Country, LLC at 301 Cottonwood Ave, Hartland WI! There are so many benefits to this move. My practice will be on the first floor which is great for many of my clients when they are experiencing pain with stairs. There will no longer be any pet allergy concerns. Many of you will appreciate no longer needing to deal with a curved driveway.  It allows my house to be a home and means I will no longer have to block treatment time because of visitors or maintenance being done at the house.

The second wonderful change is that I will have my electric table sometime in the next 4 weeks! I’m so excited to be able to offer increased ease for clients getting on and off of the table. And, by adjusting table height during sessions I will be able to decrease the stresses on my body which will allow me to care for more clients weekly and serve you over a longer career. Hopefully you like hearing that as much as I do!

The last major change is my fees. Most of you are aware that my prices haven’t changed since starting my business in 2010. At that time these prices were quite reasonable. I have been able to maintain these prices because there wasn’t rent and my primary income came from working for someone else.  With my growing knowledge, experience, and general increases in costs in every area it is past time to make some adjustments. My goal was to wait until I knew my renting expenses so as to make one appropriate price change this year. New prices for individual massages will go into effect December 1st, 2016. Package prices will go into effect immediately. Obviously, massages remaining on your current packages will be honored at the purchased price.

Regular Prices (effective 12/1/2016)

  • 60 min. Massage, $70
  • 90 min. Massage, $105
  • 60 min Hot Stone Massage, $80
  • 90 min. Hot Stone Massage, $115

Packages (effective 11/8/2016)

  • 5 pack of 60 min Massages, $325 (averages to $65/session)
  • 3 pack of 90 min Massages, $294 (averages to $98/session)

Note; packages are intended to encourage regular self-care (not more than 45 days between massages). I reserve the right to refuse the sale of packages to any client who has not honored the intent of any previously purchased package. Only one of each (60 or 90 minute) massage package may be active at any time, you must use all massages in a package before buying another package.

Thank you all for your support, for allowing me to share in your journey, and for sharing in mine. This month will be a busy one while I furnish and set up the new space in preparation for your arrival in December! I can’t wait to see you there!
